The first is Melissa Lebron, who last month became the first African American woman to own a competitive race team licensed by‎ NASCAR on the NATIONAL level.Based in upstate New York, Melissa is the owner of E2 Northeast Motorsports, a team that is not only making history because of its own, but also because it is the first multicultural team to race competitively in NASCAR. Racing is also a family affair with 2 of the drivers on the roster are actually Melissa's sons. Melissa is also a woman to admire not only for what she is doing on the track with her team, but what she is doing outside of racing. Melissa is a single mom of 7 (yes 7) children ranging in ages of 1 to 21. She is also the CEO of WM Stone Enterprises, Inc., which is a multifaceted conglomerate that houses E2 Northeast as well as her independent Latin and contemporary jazz label, Coutra Music (distributes‎ through SONY) and L'Emerge, a fashion and events brand. With all this on her plate, she still makes time to give back. Melissa was recently named to the board of the Linda B. Pinchoff Foundation, a cancer charity whose mission is to bring a voice and comfort to children and families living with cancer.
